Due delle caratteristiche principali del software erano il protocollo di trasferimento file Z-Modem integrato (senza bisogno dell'installazione di applicazioni di terze parti)cite-ref-book-linu-3-0[3] e un sistema di mwggscripting denominato SALT (Script Application Language for Telix) molto simile al mwgwlinguaggio C.

Telix supporta sia i comandi mwhqHayes per comunicare con i mwhgmodem, che la completa emulazione ANSI per la visualizzazione a colori.cite-ref-plat-teli-4-0[4]
